HYROX Physiotherapy in Nottingham: What Race Ready Includes

Race Ready guide 1 of 12 · Nottingham Physio · 31 August 2026

A race entry gives you a date to work towards. It does not tell you why your knee hurts, whether a calf problem needs assessment or how to adapt training around an injury. Race Ready is Nottingham Physio’s campaign for adults with HYROX training concerns: a clinical starting point, not a fitness test you need to pass.

What the appointment is designed to do

Our standard initial physiotherapy consultation is £65 for 55 minutes at Everlast+ Gyms in Wilford. We begin with your concerns and goals, consider relevant clinical checks, explain the findings and agree appropriate next steps. Bring questions about symptoms, recent changes in training and the activities you want to return to.

You do not need a self-diagnosis before attending. You also do not need to be a gym member. If you are training comfortably and have no concerns, entering HYROX does not automatically mean you need treatment.

Four conversations worth having

First, what is changing your training? Second, what has changed in the weeks around the problem? Third, what does the assessment suggest—and what remains uncertain? Finally, what is the next sensible decision? These questions keep the appointment centred on you rather than a standard list of exercises.

Your clinician may discuss movement, strength or functional tasks when appropriate. The exact checks depend on your presentation and consent. A useful outcome might be a rehabilitation plan, advice on modifying activity, a review appointment or referral for another opinion; it is not always hands-on treatment.

Know what is—and is not—included

Race Ready is the campaign name for an initial physiotherapy appointment. It is not a complete station-testing package, ongoing coaching subscription or race-clearance certificate. Dedicated RunningLAB and dynamometry packages are separate services, with their own suitability criteria and fees.

The £65 option is not the same as the separate initial consultation with Johnny Wilson, currently listed at £150. Check the selected appointment, clinician and price in Zanda before confirming.

Make the most of your visit

Bring comfortable clothing, relevant reports and a simple outline of your training week. Note when symptoms appear and what you have already tried. A few accurate details are more useful than a folder of internet diagnoses. We will use that context to agree what to assess and how to review progress.
