S&C focuses on improving an athlete’s overall strength, power, endurance, and injury resilience. Unlike simple weight training, S&C for cyclists targets the specific muscles and movement patterns that improve cycling performance.

Is a cycling coach worth it?

Having a coach helps keep you accountable to achieving your goals. Having someone there to motivate you and help you navigate through your session. A coach can also remove the stress and guessing out of planning your sessions yourself, we know what’s best to achieve your goals and we can use our knowledge and experience to do that.

Elite or novice, as long as you want to get faster there’s no minimum experience or fitness level needed, your coach will tailor sessions to fit your ability and fitness level.

There’s no right or wrong answer, we ask that athletes have a minimum of 5 hours of training time per week. Sometimes work and life events happen so we can adjust your plan to suit and reduce the number of hours during those periods.

Aside from a functioning bike, you’ll need a smart device to track your workouts, such as a Phone, Cycling Computer or Smart Watch. We’d strongly recommend using a heart rate monitor. To get more from your training; power meters are a brilliant tool but are not essential.

Our S&C sessions are designed to be done anywhere, with basic equipment requirements such as light weights or resistance bands. To get more from S&C, joining a local gym will be beneficial. We’ll discuss this as part of building your program so the workouts can be tailored to your equipment.
