The Running Clinic

We are here to help you to RUN again

We started the NP Running Clinic because WE LOVE RUNNING and we want to share our experience & passion to help those who also love to run but can’t run at the moment due to pain and injury.

Running Related Injuries:

We have a deep appreciation for the many physiological & psychological health benefits associated with running. However, we also are acutely aware that running is not without it’s inherent risks as the incidence & prevalence of running-related injuries (RRIs) is high whether you’re an elite runner logging 50+ miles per week or you are training for your first parkrun: WE ARE ALL AT RISK OF RRIs!!!

Running Biomechanical Analysis:

At the Running Clinic we will carry out a thorough biomechanical analysis of your running technique using video analysis and data collected from your Running Dynamics to create a very powerful learning environment.  We will assess in detail your:

  • Stride length: The distance you travel while in the air between each foot contact
  • Initial Ground Contact: Which part of your foot hits the ground first: Heel, Midfoot or Toes
  • Cadence: The amount of steps you take per minute.
  • Vertical Oscillation: The maximum height you reach when running
  • Body Position: The posture your body assumes during midstance of your running gait: e.g position of head, arms, pelvis & weight-bearing knee.

By assessing your Running Dynamics, it will allow us to help you to:

  • Improve your running form,
  • Identify any areas of your running style which may predispose you to RRIs.
  • Get the most out of your running.

Individualised Corrective S & C Running Program:

Following the Running Analysis we will develop an Indivisdualised Corrective Running Program founded on the results of your assessment to help you achieve more balance in your running biomechanics, form, and technique, helping you run more efficiently & injury-free.

This Running Biomechanical Analysis is suitable for:

  • Beginner runners
  • Serious amateurs
  • Elite runners
  • Distance runners
  • Sprinters
  • Triathletes

The Bottom Line:

We’re not here to sell you the latest “run faster trainer or injury prevention foot orthosis” and we don’t claim to have the “secret, hidden formula that will transform you into a sub 2 hour marathon runner.

Here at Nottingham Physio we just simply love running and we want to help as many runners as possible with our knowledge & passion for running to inspire, motivate, and help you achieve your running goals.
